Blending Anatolian rock with Afrobeat, blues, and swing, the track is both raw and vibrant. Polat’s voice powerfully invites listeners to the mythical meydan, setting the tone for her bold and captivating new sound.
ABOUT
Meral Polat is a renowned actress, singer/songwriter and theatremaker in the Netherlands. She graduated from the Amsterdam University of the Arts in Drama and Contemporary Music Theatre. Her artistic field spans eminent theatre, film and music productions.
With her new show, she presents a brand-new quartet program, creating a sonic world that blends different eras and cultures while staying true to a contemporary sound. The program gives voice to women living on their own terms — a powerful, epic exploration of freedom, humanity and women’s strength. Musically, it brings more rhythm, groove, rock ’n’ roll and power, sharing stories of resistance, struggle and solidarity in the fight for women’s rights.
